Collage Collective Project

The Collage Collective project (CCP) is a virtual project envisioned by an art therapist. Our community is dedicated to exploring innovative approaches to care, inspiring social action, and advocating for mental health, anti-oppression practices, and social justice. Our community is dedicated to exploring innovative approaches to care, encouraging social action, and advocating for mental health, anti-oppression practices, and social justice.

At CCP, we ask questions like:
– Can mental health professionals extend their impact beyond one-on-one sessions and connect with their communities through their unique identities and interests?

– How can we authentically engage with our communities while staying true to our values and livelihood?
– How can we effectively use our identities, experiences and trainings to serve our communities while prioritizing our well-being and theirs?

Our vision is to reshape our practice to align with our values and lifestyles. Our dream is to foster a global community centered around arts and creativity, and CCP brings that dream to life.

Personal Artwork

My background is quite eclectic. Initially, I got a degree in theater, focusing on playwriting. However, when life got challenging, I sensed a calling to become a therapist and support others as my mentors had done for me. This led me to train as a creative arts therapist, learning various creative expressions and modalities, from painting to movement.

As a kid, I watched my aunt create magic with clay and sculpture. If not the genes, I definitely got the bug! I, too, fell in love with clay and pottery. I even embarked on a six-month wood-firing ceramic residency in the mountains—a story for another time!
I later returned to the theater arts and became a drama therapist. I’m a novice student learning traditional Iranian music.

My current fascination is with collage-making, which I believe will enhance the imagery in my stories. So, would you describe me as hectic or eclectic?

It provides a safe space to explore emotions, reduce stress, and build resilience. Through art, individuals can tap into their creativity, gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and finding innovative solutions to life’s challenges.

Whether you’re seeking emotional healing or simply looking to nurture your creativity, art therapy is a powerful tool that unlocks the full potential of your imagination.
